The link for the unincorporated town of Browntown, Warren County, VA, mistakenly leads to the Ablemarle County, VA town of Browntown.

Adjacent counties

[edit]

The text in the adjacent counties section is riveting and no one could ever benefit from seeing how those counties relate to each other in space and size. Maps should always be deleted. Abel (talk) 14:46, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

With no one agreeing that maps are evil, will add the map to the Geography section. Abel (talk) 18:29, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with Magnolia677, the map is too large. I don't even see a need for the map on this page, tbh. APK whisper in my ear
The same person saying the map should be smaller is the same person who said that map is too small to read. Pick a position. Either the map is too small or the map is too large. It cannot be both too large and too small at the same time. Abel (talk) 23:15, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't followed what others previously said, but what I'm saying now is I think it's too large and overwhelms the section and page. APK whisper in my ear 03:39, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Then smaller it is, however, I really do not want to hear any more from Magnolia677 about how this is now too small and "illegible" when multiple people can see it just fine and the other version is too large. Either this one is too small or the other is too large. Abel (talk) 13:37, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@AgnosticPreachersKid: Much of this was discussed at Talk:Manassas, Virginia#RfC about the large map of surrounding counties. Magnolia677 (talk) 17:27, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the link. Like I mentioned in my earlier comment, I don't even see the need for the map on this article. Was there a consensus to add it to every single county page? APK whisper in my ear 01:26, 29 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The consensus was that maps are useful and the image needed to be of a higher quality. User Erp created a higher quality image. Otherwise, there was no consensus on anything, just a mountain of random, conflicting demands. Abel (talk) 01:49, 29 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Promotional edits

[edit]

A newly created account appeared to be adding a (now defunct) website and an individual (Matthew Berdyck) to the controversy section with the edit summary that the individual needed to be recognized. I reverted, seeing this as a promotional edit. However, there's accusations of conspiracy theories and such from that account towards me. I am neither bonded to the subjects nor to the area so I will let other editors (pinging Magnolia677) sift through those edits and allow consensus to take its course. May 2020 followup

[edit]

Followup note that there appears to be a concerted effort to aggressively promote Matthew Berdyck. I have already indefinitely blocked one user for that. Please feel free to contact me personally if any further promotion or attacks pertaining to this individual appear anywhere on Wikipedia. I intend to adopt a zero tolerance approach toward such disruption. El_C 20:38, 20 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
