Untitled
[edit]All of the discussion of the historical side effects of hydraulic mining should really be split off into a separate article, or at least a separate subsection. More discussion of the actual techniques of hydraulic mining would be a good idea.
Editing
[edit]were made to this item: The definition was changed to disassociate hydraulic mining from placer mining. It can be a form of placer mining, depending on the material being mined. The discussion of flooding in Marysville was shortened considerably. The Federal court case was NOT the Supreme Court. etc. The discussion of side effects was retained because it remains an important aspect of hydraulic mining and because there is not a simple alternative heading that would logically pop up in a search. Agreed: More discussion of the specific techniques is still needed.

The article focuses on the location of California as it is indicated in the text as the origin of this mining technique but more emphasis could be placed on the other locations it is being used. As well as how it being used differently in these other locations. MHatherall (talk) 02:07, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
