Empty category template
[edit]I don't agree that it should be empty - that just leads to artificially forcing pages into categories where they don't really fit, or inventing sub-catgeories just for one or two pages. It's a laudable aim to ensure that individual wrecks are included in subcategories, and not here, but pages about the subject of shipwrecks in general (like wreck diving) need to be here. San Demetrio
[edit]Does anyone know why San Demetrio is listed here? AFAIK she wasn't wrecked, and there's nothing about it on the article page. I thought the point of her story was that she wasn't lost, but brought home to port.Xyl 54 10:25, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
Sub categories
[edit]While searching for SS Breda, I found it was (incorrectly) placed in Category:World War II shipwrecks in the English Channel - fixed that.
Out of interest, I then looked at Category:Shipwrecks in the English Channel - but I could not find that category in what I assumed to be its parent: Category:Shipwrecks by body of water. Eventually I found that Category:Shipwrecks in the English Channel is a subcategory of Category:Shipwrecks in the Atlantic Ocean, a very dubious parent, since I doubt that anybody in the UK would look for the Channel as part of the Atlantic. Anyway, there are simply too many branches and subcategories to make finding a particular wreck anything but a tortuous task. Is there any good reason why all shipwrecks should not be in Category:Shipwrecks as well as an appropriate sub-category? --RexxS (talk) 17:21, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
