- Comment: On principle, I will refuse to vote on any more RfAs until a formal study has been conducted between the correlation of the people hanging out in IRC://Freenode.net/#wikipedia and the people RfA'd in the past 12 months.
- Consider this an official request. Project2501a 00:40, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Ha, ha! Project2501a, Wikipedia is an all volunteer organization. If you'd like a formal study conducted, why don't you roll up your sleaves and get started? Of course, the first thing you will have to do is start hanging out at IRC://Freenode.net/#wikipedia.... ;-) func(talk) 01:09, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- oh, you mean like how one of my screens is perminately dedicated to an irc client on freenone? right, right, right :D ;)
- Project2501a, I assume you are familar with the related discussion at Wikipedia talk:Requests for adminship/Bishonen. Of course, I have to ask, why did you vote here, and then ask for this formal study? It kind of looks a little hypocritical to me and that you seem to be trying to make a point. Or am I misunderstanding you? Please explain. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 01:20, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- hypocritical, no. i was trying to make a point. i read WP:POINT and now, yeah, insert foot in mouth! Ketsup, please! :D Eris is the mother of this project and hence it's bound to be chaotic and all the other thingies that makes this project the humming-along-makes-you-feel-good project that it is :D An no, i had NO clue about bish's RfA debate. I'll rtfa as sson as i click the save page button. thank you all for replying, though! Project2501a 10:09, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- This is a community. It is likely that there would be favourites, majority views, minority views, popular people, etc., etc.. JuntungWu 05:57, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
I have moved the above comments from the Support vote section to Comments. Bishonen | talk 01:26, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC) Moved to talk El_C 06:10, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- For the record, I was recently made an administrator; I have never visited the IRC channel (I don't even know how to use it) and was relatively new (3 months, 1000 edits)—I still received a good number of votes. Of course, a sample size of 1 is not a very useful study, I know. — Knowledge Seeker দ 06:22, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Ditto. I mean, I never visited it, I do know how to use it. :) El_C 06:56, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)
