The result of the debate was transwiki. Mindspillage (spill yours?) 21:45, 5 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
This article, and all articles listed, would seem like clean candidates for Wikibooks. These are recipies and clearly do not belong in the encyclopedia. Interwiki. -- Egil 03:45, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Yes, they seem to be "how-to's". Interwiki as appropriate. Kappa 03:58, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)

- There's a brand new Wikibook on the How-tos bookshelf at Wikibooks entitled Constructing school science lab equipment. You may want to explicitly nominate these articles for deletion:
- Cell holder (now a book chapter at Wikibooks:Constructing school science lab equipment/Cell holder)
- Bulb holder (now a book chapter at Wikibooks:Constructing school science lab equipment/Bulb holder)
- Simple switches (now a book chapter at Wikibooks:Constructing school science lab equipment/Simple switches)
- Hydraulics demonstration (now a book chapter at Wikibooks:Constructing school science lab equipment/Hydraulics demonstration)
- Graticule slides (now a book chapter at Wikibooks:Constructing school science lab equipment/Graticule slides)
- Apparatus for demonstrating osmosis (now a book chapter at Wikibooks:Constructing school science lab equipment/Apparatus for demonstrating osmosis)
- Making Charles' law tubes (now a book chapter at Wikibooks:Constructing school science lab equipment/Making Charles' law tubes)
- I'm unable to transwiki the relevant images to Commons. I leave that task to another editor. You may want to consider these articles, which I did not transwiki because they weren't obviously "how to build a" articles like the others, and need more detailed individual consideration on their own merits:
- Demo periscope
- I moved the how-to section of Periscope over to Wikibooks:Constructing school science lab equipment/Demo periscope -- Egil 07:27, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Bell jar model lung
- I moved it to Wikibooks as well, and put it on vfd. If someone objects, one can always leave the Wikibooks:Constructing school science lab equipment/Bell jar model lung as is, and revert the original article and rewrite. -- Egil 07:27, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Demo periscope
- You may want to look at these articles, too:
- Please discuss the disposition of this article here, in the encyclopaedia. My opinion is delete, by the way. Uncle G 15:09, 2005 Apr 20 (UTC)
- Weak delete this article (and probably all of the listed articles), with second preference for merge to a better-titled parent article, after transwikification; Wikipedia is not a collection of how-to guides. Science lab equipment is an encyclopedic topic (history, basic usage, etc) but construction techniques for every type of experiment and demonstration aren't. Wikibooks is the more appropriate place for this content. Barno 20:33, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- This page is now preserved as an archive of the debate and, like some other VfD subpages, is no longer 'live'. Subsequent comments on the issue, the deletion, or the decision-making process should be placed on the relevant 'live' pages. Please do not edit this page.
