Galileo?
[edit]Should I add Galielo, from Italy, as a famous example? Billvoltage 22:14, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
- I second that, and it should go under a new section, "Historical Notable instances". - Revth 02:00, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
- How about Notable Historical Instances? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Billvoltage (talk • contribs) .
- That might be a good idea Billvoltage, I'd like to see this article be extended a little bit. - User:Agent008 27th February 2008,19:29. —Preceding comment was added at 19:29, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'm curious what the conditions of that house arrest might be like. Does anyone know where we could find more information about that? - User:Totalart44 3 May 2021

[edit]The "history" section says that house arrest "id not become a widespread alternative to imprisonment until electronic monitoring devices made it inexpensive and easy to manage". I think that this is a very strong statement and I can't find a reference for it; based on my knowledge of my life context, it even seems false. Also, I don't know how many countries actually use electronic bracelet on house arrest, and how this is considered a prerequisite.
I flagged it with
{{Where}}
but I propose to entirely rewrite it based on sources.
Paul in Acts of the Apostles
[edit]If anyone is interested, the situation of Paul (in Rome) in the Acts of the Apostles could be added.--216.15.48.37 (talk) 01:22, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
Add Andrew Tate under a Romania section?
[edit]Should Andrew Tate's notable house arrest in Romania be added in a subsection, as a contemporary example? 123.243.118.76 (talk) 14:35, 2 June 2023 (UTC)
“Listicle”
[edit]Recently, the list of popular cases was removed, should it not be put up to a vote; it was a long section. Evenite's User Page (talk) 03:51, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
- I've reverted the change for now because I agree, it's appropriate to have a discussion instead of just wholesale deleting a huge chunk of the article. I think it should at least be reduced to "notable instances". Garnet-Septagon (talk) 05:04, 3 August 2023 (UTC)

- I'm not sure why I was pinged here.
- In my experience with many similar lists and articles, in order to avoid NOT and POV problems it is best to keep such lists very short with a high bar for inclusion. I don't see any obvious inclusion criteria for this article. Any need for a explanatory content with a list entry might indicate a problematic entry, especially if it's lengthy, which is the case for many entries here. --Hipal (talk) 16:47, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
- Possible inclusion criteria: The house arrest was a major event in the person's life, beyond that the person was confined/restricted for the time period, or the house arrest of the person resulted in a notable event.
- Basically, the house arrest directly resulted in notable events in the life of the person or others. --Hipal (talk) 18:22, 8 August 2023 (UTC)
