[edit]anyone can specify the differences among these categories: Category:LGBT, Category:Homosexuality, Category:Gay-related topics? how to deal with the articles in List of gay-related topics? put them all under the Category:Gay-related topics or Category:Homosexuality or Category:LGBT or all of them? @_@; --Yacht (talk) 18:44, Jul 1, 2004 (UTC)
CfD discussion
[edit]The following discussion comes from Wikipedia:Categories for deletion. The consensus was that it is no longer needed, as Category:LGBT is being used instead. Since this category may be used accidentally in the future, I decided to make it a redirect instead of deleting it. -Aranel ("Sarah") 23:53, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Instead of labeling things as "homosexual", "gay", "lesbian", or "bisexual", I've been reclassifying sexual orientation-related topics under "identity", "science", "society", etc. See Category:LGBT. Some of the categories there could probably stand to be re-named (feel free to make additional nominations), but for the moment, I've finished reclassifying everything from Category:Homosexuality, so it's no longer needed. (This was announced on and supported by Category talk:LGBT.)

- Support - however, please realize that the abbrev (or euphemism) LGBT is not widely used in every area (in particular, outside the USA). So some kind of redirection or explanation may be useful. Radiant! 21:02, Feb 24, 2005 (UTC)
- Would you consider it appropriate to simply redirect this category Category:LGBT?
- Support. "LGBT" is a standard, broadly inclusive term. -Willmcw 22:44, Mar 10, 2005 (UTC)
