From Blossom (TV series)
[edit]````Blossom reminds me of Sarah Jessica Parker. Is it possible she changed her name?````
"Blossom was a comedy television series which ran on NBC from 1991 through 1995. It starred Mayim Bialik as Blossom Russo, Ted Wass as her father Nick, Michael Stoyanov and Joey Lawrence as her brothers Anthony, Joey, and Jenna von Oÿ as her best friend, Six LeMuere.
When the series began, Blossom was 13 years old, and was the most mature member of her family. He father was a divorced musician who was frequently between gigs, her oldest brother Anthony was a recovering alcoholic, and her brother Joey was a stereotypical "dumb jock". She frequently got advice in fantasy scenes from famous celebrities."
Blossom also found success in Spain.
I wanted to know what this joke means.
From Seinfeld Season 4 (The Cleavage)
George to Dalrymple "Where Are Are you going?"
Dalrymple "I have to go to L.A., There is Something Wrong On the Set Of Blossom."
Audience Laughs at this. I just can't get this one. Can anyone explian this to me.Padfootpak0091 10:14, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
- I just took it to be a statement on the seemingly inane emergencies that these television execs must deal with, ya know? and of all the shows for there to be an emergency on, Blossom? I don't know -- don't try thinking about it too hard, I guess. -- Lawofone (talk) 19:09, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
- I do not state that this is true, only the rumor: Over the course of Blossom, there were persistent rumors of backstage temper tantrums by a certain member of the show. I am withholding the name because I really don’t think the rumors are true; The person most commonly named is has been steadily working in Hollywood, and in the movie industry, if you have a reputation of being ‘difficult’ you often have problems finding even walk-on roles, let alone permanent roles (though several of this person’s roles do appear to have started as guest roles, then grew beyond that). That may have been what the joke references. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andering J. REDDSON (talk • contribs) 04:46, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
Removed text
[edit]I removed this text from the article:
- The popular show baffled teen girls everywhere, incredulous that Blossom scored a hot guy like Vinnie when she was such an uggo herself.
If someone feel it's important and if they can make the text encyclopedic, please do so. bbx 00:28, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
I took out this:
- Blossom's cousin Kelly Jean Russo (Lindsay Lohan) is finally befriend with Six meanwhile, She's the niece and cousin of Nick, Joey, and Anthony Russo.
Not only is this sentence gramatically non-sensical, but there's no record that Lindsay Lohan ever was a guest on this program, no less one of the program's stars (feel free to cite a credible source showing otherwise). Marriedtofilm 19:12, September 24, 2006
Blossom's older brother Anthony
[edit]It says that Blossom's older is a recovering drug addict, but that is wrong. Anthony is infact a recovering alcholic. I will change it to make it correct. Mr. C.C. 19:23, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, in S01E08 Tony asks "What did I do?" and Joey snaps back with "Every drug known to man". Later in the same episode, Tony mentions smoking pot, abusing alcohol and "testing more substances than the FDA". barraponto (talk) 22:56, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
ABC Family?
[edit]I saw something on the ABC Family page stating that Blossom was supposed to start airing in July on that channel. Anything to back it up?

Removed trivia
[edit]There seemed to be enough time for someone to source these trivia yet none have so I moved them here until they can be verified and properly sourced at a latter date.
- The character of Six was originally going to face a teen pregnancy in the fourth season. However, NBC vetoed the idea due to it being too controversial for the time. "Blossom" would have been the first major sitcom to tackle such an issue involving a main character.
- One thing the show was known for, particularly in the show's early years, was Blossom and Six's use of flowered hats.

Genre
[edit]This show is a sitcom. Why is it labeled "comedy/drama"? That genre designation is usually only used for one-hour programs. 71.77.52.3 (talk) 22:47, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- I can only assume that whomever added the genre and accompanying categories figured the show qualified as a comedy-drama because of the amount of "very special episodes" the series was known for. Regardless, I have changed the genre because various sources (I only cited one) label it as a sitcom. Pinkadelica♣ 00:15, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Six or Sioux
[edit]I remember reading that Six's name was actually Sioux. It just sounded like "Six" when spoken. Can anyone confirm this?70.79.55.114 (talk) 04:58, 27 January 2012 (UTC)BeeCier
- Since "Sioux" is pronounced "soo" in every instance I think of, I doubt this is true. Patrick of J (talk) 17:25, 31 August 2014 (UTC)
Cultural Reference
[edit]I am pretty sure it is also referenced in The Big Bang Theory again - when Amy and Sheldon are deciding on a "Couples Costume" for Halloween, one of the couples on the list looks like "Blossom and Joey" (possibly an in joke for fans?)
(And since Wikipedia is obsessed with citations :- http://yesterdayscheese.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/amy-sheldon-halloween-couples-list-big-bang-theory.html and http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ZvbzqCuhgBM/UI6Nxp3VK5I/AAAAAAAAAjQ/AW4IV0uAJ5s/s1600/big-bang-theory-sheldon-amy-couples-list-halloween-2012.png for the image itself. And I know it's a blog, but it is an actual screenshot which I think should be acceptable to the wiki police) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.192.232.123 (talk) 22:41, 23 October 2013 (UTC)
Cultural References missing
[edit]In "Married with children" season 9 episode 13 "I Want My Psycho Dad" (Part 2)" in the final scene after giving the final verdict to cancel "Psycho Dad" the judge is being attacked by a rubber. Al rescues him and the judge asks what could he do in return. Al says "You could put scums like that behind bars. Or cancel Blossom. maybe that's where he got the idea for the hat". — Preceding unsigned comment added by אינפוג'נקי (talk • contribs) 20:48, 15 August 2014 (UTC)

Why isn't Samaria Graham listed in the "Starring" section?
[edit]It seems odd that Samaria Graham is left out of the starring section. Introduced as "Shelly Russo", Anthony Russo's wife, near the middle of Season 4 and part of Season 5, she should also be listed as a part of the main cast. Yes, she was recurring for most of her time on the show, but she did receive regular cast billing at the beginning of season 6. If Portia Dawson, Barnard Hughes, Finola Hughes, and Courtney Chase get listed as regular cast members, Samaria Graham should also be listed as a regular cast member.Oldshowfanatic77 (talk) 05:39, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[1]
