Date of the panoramic photo
[edit]The caption claims that the photo was taken in June. The data for the photo says that the photo was uploaded in June. My guess is that the photo was taken in May. Should the date from the caption be removed before the date is confirmed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.233.44.239 (talk) 13:21, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
Height Update 11 September 2019
[edit]From CNN "The glacier-covered southern peak of Kebnekaise mountain, located in the far north of the country, now stands at 2,095.6 meters, which is the lowest height ever measured and 1.2 meters below the mountain's ice-free, rocky northern peak at 2096.8 meters." — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cosmerk (talk • contribs) 00:33, 11 September 2019 (UTC)
New hight
[edit]According to this site (in Swedish) ("Svenska Fjällklubbens Tidning" "Swedish Mountain Club Newspaper") the new hight of Kebnekaise is 2103 m. Maybe someone can find another source in english. / Dreamingtree (talk) 17:22, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- This should probably be mentioned in the article indeed, with the distinction North/South made clear. Swedish source is enough as far as I'm concerned. --Nattfodd (talk) 22:56, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- Another source of the hight is from the National Land Survay of Sweden (Lantmäteriet) [1]. Sadly also in Swedish. The record shows that the hight was 2103 meters in August 2004. / Dreamingtree (talk) 14:29, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Giebnegáisi/Giebmegáisi
[edit]Sources contradict each other on the Saami word:
- Lantmäteriets fjällkarta BD6 says: Giebmegáisi
- Lantmäteriets översiktskarta 1 says: Giebnegáisi

Pronunciation?
[edit]How is the name pronounced? (In Swedish? In English?) Normally in Swedish, initial 〈k〉 before “front” vowels 〈ä e i ö y〉 is pronounced /ɕ/ (roughly as in English ship). However, in the case of “Kebnekaise”, the name looks like a recent borrowing, so the initial 〈K〉 may be hard. Could someone please indicate a pronunciation?--Solomonfromfinland (talk) 13:59, 19 May 2013 (UTC)
