Cambridge University Cricket Club has not been entirely subsumed within the UCCE team. The Varsity match remains between Oxford and Cambridge University Cricket Clubs proper. The Cambridge UCCE team is dominated by players from Anglia Polytechnic University. The UCCE team has first class status, so its fixtures with county sides contribute to first class statistics, unlike Cardiff UCCE and Bradford and Leeds UCCE.
