Welcome message
[edit]Hi Javier: Como estas? Que bueno saber que eres Argentino, another Hispanic brother who is doing a great job! I am honored to give you the official welcome to wikipedia. Im Puerto Rican, like Menudo, Ricky Martin, Dayanara Torres, Rum, errr...and well you get the point ..jaja
I have also had the priviledge to write here about countless Argentine people or topics, a few are Aerolineas Argentinas, Telefe, Maria Martha Serra Lima, Jorge Porcel, Carlos Monzon, Santos Laciar, Antonio de la Rúa, Grecia Colmenares, Luis Firpo, Fabiana Vallejo, Juan Roldan, Raul Castells, Ezeiza International Airport, Pascual Perez, and my favorite Argentine person, Susana Gimenez, of course.
About my personal "candidacy" for president of the United States, dont worry. Although I DID vote for myself, Im also a payaso, I love to keep things a little funny here at wikipedia so that I can make someone laugh at least. Im a serious payaso, through, because wikipedia articls are to be written in a serious way if we want people to take us seriously, and well, yeah, I know what moments to be serious or not to be.
Well amigo, Gracias for representing us in a honorary way in this website. Latinos unidos forever! Dios bless you!! Hope to hear from you soon!!!
Sincerely yours, "Antonio Borigaucho Martin"
Antonio: I appreciate your Welcome message, thanks for writing it in english although we both speak spanish. I think English Wikipedia should be written in english no matter where the Wikipedian´s are. I am very surprised about how many things you know about Argentina. I expect to be reading / reviewing them soon. Have a nice day! Latinos and all human kind unidos forever!

Mensaje de un wikipedista norteamericano
[edit]¡Saludos, compañero de Wikipedia! I'm coming to Argentina soon and wanted to see if any of my fellow Wikipedians were interested in meeting up, etc...I'm flying into BsAs on Jan. 25th and I don't know many people there, so if you'd be into talking/getting together, let me know. (I, like you, am 21 and interested in economics, btw.) Feel free to leave a message on my user page...seeya around - Paul 23:04, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- Congratulations on your child!! Great to hear...I'm sure to have a bunch of questions (mostly relating to a) getting a job and b) getting around the country and the region, i.e. to Montevideo, Mendoza, Santiago, Asuncion etc. And judging from the Argentinean people I have met before, I think I will very much like living among them (if my Spanish weren't so mediocre I could practically be one myself). Talk to you later and all the best Paul 14:35, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info! I did hear about the paper plants on the river, that's good to keep in mind...since I have all the time in the world, the crazier the trip to Uruguay is, the better. As far as a job goes...many people from North America and Britain teach English in various Latin American countries, so that's an obvious option...although I don't have any teaching experience and it is hard to find reliable information about teaching opportunities, but some say that any native speaker has a chance of being hired. As far as the tourism industry goes, I'd love to work in it...I mostly like working around people and as long as a job is interesting, nothing else matters too much. I have a 2 year degree in negocios and a four year degree in la historia, so that might help, although it's hard to say for sure...I know the economic situation isn't so good right now (thanks for nothing, neoliberalismo!) but there are always opportunities (they say things are OK in New York although I'd take Argentina on a bad day over New York on an "OK" day). At the moment I have Spanish TV on in the background to improve my knowledge of the language a bit (probably won't help too much but it's kinda interesting and the women are better looking)...Anyways, thanks for the info, talk to you later. Wikimedia Stories Project
[edit]Aloha!
My name is Victor and I work with the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organization that supports Wikipedia. We're chronicling the inspiring stories of the Wikipedia community around the world, including those from readers, editors, and donors. Stories are absolutely essential for any non-profit to persuade new people to support the cause, and we know the vast network of people who use Wikipedia have so much to share.
I find stories that drive our annual fundraising efforts. It's important to convey the incredible diversity of people who've come to rely upon Wikipedia every day.
I'd really like the opportunity to interview you to tell your story, with the possibility of using it in our materials, on our community websites, or as part of this year’s fundraiser to encourage others to support Wikipedia.
I will be in Buenos Aires from the 10th - 11th of March 2012.
I'm hoping you will elaborate on your story with me. Please let me know if you're inclined to take part in the Wikipedia Stories Project!
Thank you,
Victor Grigas
